Job summary

City Football Group is seeking a part-time Kitchen Assistant for Manchester City Women at the City Football Academy. You will help keep the kitchen and refectory clean, assist with basic food preparation, and ensure high standards of hygiene and safety in line with COSHH guidance.

The role is 18.5 hours per week with potential for extra hours around the football schedule. Prior kitchen experience and a Level 1 food hygiene certificate are desirable; training toward certificates will be supported.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a kitchen assistant or in a similar catering environment.
• Practical knowledge of manual and mechanical cleaning equipment and procedures.
• A Level 1 food hygiene certificate, or willingness to work towards one.
• A Level 1 allergy awareness certificate, or willingness to work towards one.
• Ability to follow food hygiene, COSHH, manual handling, health and safety, fire and security procedures.
• Flexible and dependable approach with clear communication for cleaning, deliveries and basic prep.

Responsibilities

• Keep the kitchen and refectory clean, safe and ready for service.
• Clean and sterilise equipment, surfaces, tableware and kitchen areas.
• Operate and close down the dishwasher and complete deep-cleaning tasks.
• Receive and store deliveries, manage waste and handle cleaning chemicals safely.
• Support basic food preparation and maintain high hygiene standards.
