Job summary

HC-One is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for a part-time role in the UK. The position offers 19.25 hours on a 3 on 3 off rotation, focusing on preparing and serving nutritious meals with empathy for residents in care homes.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, kindness, and teamwork to support residents’ wellbeing. We welcome applicants with some kitchen experience and a willingness to pursue an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen or catering environment.
• Willingness to work toward NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under the direction of the Chef or Cook.
• Serve meals warmly and on time to residents.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and on surfaces.
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures.
• Support stock rotation and safe storage of ingredients.
• Show new team members how to safely use kitchen equipment.
• Wash dishes and keep the kitchen spotless.
