Job summary

Bridge Oak Care Homes is recruiting a caring Kitchen Assistant for The Denby in Huddersfield. This permanent, part-time role (30 hours per week, alternate weekends) offers £12.95 per hour and the chance to contribute to nourishing meals for residents.

You’ll support the Cook in preparing meals, handle service and dietary needs, and ensure a safe, clean kitchen in line with HACCP and safety regulations. Teamwork and compassion are essential.

Qualifications

• Willing to participate in staff and resident meetings.
• Experience in a care setting is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Cook with preparation of varied, nutritious meals for residents.
• Help serve meals and respect dietary requirements.
• Maintain HACCP, Health & Safety, COSHH and Environmental Health compliance.
• Clean and tidy kitchen areas to high standards.
• Ensure kitchen equipment is safe and report faults.
• Receive/unload stock and rotate stock for freshness.
• Work as part of the team and participate in meetings.
