Job summary

Hill Care is seeking a part-time Kitchen Assistant to support the cook with preparing, cooking and serving meals for residents. You will handle meals that meet dietary requirements such as soft diets or diabetic options, while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

The role involves learning and training as needed, with emphasis on teamwork, reliability, and caring approach. Prior care experience and a Food Safety Level 2 certificate are advantageous, with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
• Good communication skills
• Team player
• Satisfactory Police Check and check against the POVA List (where applicable)

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
• Participate in staff and client meetings and training.
• Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence.
• Attend mandatory training days/courses and ensure kitchen areas are clean and safe.
• Ensure Health and Safety standards in kitchen and dining areas.
• Report illnesses or accidents to Home Manager or Person in Charge.
• Follow Care Centre policies and hold to confidentiality.
