Job summary

The Wayfarer in Stone is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. You’ll work with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to run services, uphold high standards, and start building leadership skills for future progression.

This part-time role (32 hours/week) offers hands-on training, exposure to pub classics and international dishes, plus opportunities to learn ordering, stock control and food safety in a welcoming gastropub environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as Chef de Partie or junior sous in a kitchen environment.
• Calm, organized individual with strong people skills.
• Passion for food and high standards.
• Motivated to learn and progress to Sous Chef.

Responsibilities

• Run sections and support the pass during busy services.
• Cook menus to specification, consistently.
• Train and support fellow chefs and KP staff.
• Assist with ordering, stock control and food safety.
