Job summary

The Wayfarer in Stone, part of Parogon Group, invites applications for a Junior Sous Chef to join a busy gastropub kitchen. You will work alongside the Head Chef and Sous Chef to maintain high standards, learn leadership skills, and contribute to a collaborative team.

This role offers 32 hours per week, a competitive hourly rate up to £14 and a clear route toward a Sous Chef position as you gain experience and responsibility.

• Calm, organised and great with people
• Hungry to learn and progress to Sous Chef

Ready for your first step into kitchen management? We're looking for a Junior Sous Chef to join the team at The Wayfarer.

The Wayfarer in Stone is a much-loved gastropub where everyone's welcome to pull up a chair – known for its Sunday roasts with proper Yorkshire puddings and its beautiful Coral Room. Our kitchen mixes pub favourites with the chef's international dishes, plus a rotating 'Throwbacks' menu of past favourites.

Here's What We Offer

• Up to £14.00 per hour (Approx. £1,790 every 4-weeks or £23,300 pa)
• Shared Service charge (Avg. £5,820 pa)
• Total Potential Package = £29,120 per year
• Part time – 32 hours a week: solid, regular hours with a better work-life balance
• Your first step into kitchen management, fully supported

The role

You’ll work alongside your Head Chef and Sous Chef to run great services, keep standards high and start building the leadership skills to take your career further.

• Getting involved in ordering, stock and food safety
