Job summary

digiLab is seeking an IT Operations & Security Specialist to build, manage, and secure our IT infrastructure from our Exeter base. You will oversee day-to-day IT support, maintain multi-site networks and hardware, and implement security tooling and policies to protect our systems and data.

The role is part-time and based at the Exeter HQ, with travel to other locations as needed. You will act as the go-to for security-related client questions while collaborating with teams to keep operations

Qualifications

• Proven IT helpdesk experience including remote and on-site support.
• Hands-on network maintenance across multiple sites.
• Strong IT security knowledge with endpoint protection.
• Familiarity with GDPR and security standards (CyberEssentials, ISO27001, SOC2).
• Ability to communicate security topics to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive problem-solving and willingness to learn new AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Keep access management smooth and secure, onboarding and offboarding.
• Maintain laptops and devices across Mac/Windows.
• Set up and manage security tooling and policies.
• Respond to security questionnaires from clients.
• Ensure office networks, Wi‑Fi, cloud platforms, backups run reliably.
• Provide IT support across the business and manage equipment lifecycle.
