digiLab, Exeter HQ, seeks an IT Operations & Security Specialist to build and secure our internal systems. You’ll run day-to-day helpdesk, manage multi-site networks, and implement security tooling while partnering across teams.

You'll be the point of contact for client security questions, maintain backups, and ensure standards like CyberEssentials and ISO27001 are upheld. This part‑time role offers growth in a fast‑moving, ambitious startup.

Qualifications

• Proven IT helpdesk support experience across remote and in-person setups.
• Hands-on experience maintaining office networks, Wi‑Fi, and connectivity across multiple sites.
• Strong IT security foundation with focus on endpoint security and data confidentiality.
• Familiarity with data protection standards (GDPR) and security frameworks (CyberEssentials, ISO27001, SOC2).
• Experience translating security concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive, hands-on troubleshoot mindset with willingness to adopt new AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee IT helpdesk support across multiple sites (on-site and remote).
• Maintain office networks, Wi-Fi, VPNs, and connectivity.
• Design, implement and maintain security tooling and policies.
• Answer security questions from clients with clarity and confidence.
• Manage hardware lifecycle and onboarding/offboarding processes.
• Ensure backups, cloud platforms, and networks run reliably for the team.
