Job summary

Vanilla Recruitment is recruiting a part-time HR Advisor for a well-established manufacturing business on a fixed-term contract until April 2027. The role is on-site in Market Harborough and involves supporting managers, improving engagement, and ensuring consistent people processes.

The successful candidate will have CIPD Level 5 or equivalent HR experience, strong knowledge of UK employment law, and proven ER case experience.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent) in HR is required or demonstrated HR experience.
• Solid knowledge of UK employment law and GDPR familiarity.
• Experience supporting managers and handling ER cases in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance to managers on HR policies, procedures and employment law.
• Manage employee relations cases from investigation to resolution.
• Conduct HR compliance audits and maintain accurate records (GDPR).
• Design and deliver coaching and training for line managers.
• Monitor training completion and employee engagement activities.
• Produce HR reports on absence, turnover, compliance and training.
• Support monthly payroll administration and provide HR data to Finance.

We're delighted to be recruiting a part-time HR Advisor on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business, to join them on a fixed-term contract until April 2027.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join a busy operational environment where they will play a key role in supporting managers, driving compliance, improving employee engagement, and ensuring consistent application of people processes across the organisation. This HR Advisor vacancy would suit someone who enjoys working closely with operational teams and making a tangible impact on business performance.

• Fixed-term contract until April 2027

Duties and responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance to managers on HR policies, procedures and employment law requirements
• Manage employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability matters
• Conduct HR compliance audits and maintain accurate employee records in line with GDPR requirements
• Design and deliver coaching, guidance and training to support line manager development
• Monitor, track and report on mandatory training completion and employee engagement activities
• Produce HR reports and metrics relating to absence, turnover, compliance and training performance
• Support monthly payroll administration and provide accurate HR data to the finance team

Required skills and experience

• Previous experience in an HR Advisor role within a manufacturing environment is essential
• CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent HR experience
• Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
• Proven experience managing employee relations cases from investigation through to resolution
• Experience coaching and supporting managers on people-related matters
• Strong administrative, reporting and data management skills, including experience using HR systems
• Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills
