Job summary

Priory Hospital Market Weighton seeks a dedicated Part Time Chef to join our catering team. The role is 24 hours per week, following a two-week rota with shifts on Tue, Sat and Sun 09:30–18:00 in Week 1 and Tue, Wed and Thu 09:30–18:00 in Week 2.

The role involves planning, preparation and cooking, ensuring high standards of food safety and efficient stock control. You’ll support a welcoming hospital environment and patient-focused service.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Catering and Basic Food Hygiene qualification.
• Previous experience in a professional kitchen.
• Experience preparing meals for large groups to a high standard.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and health & safety regulations.
• Excellent organisation and time management skills.
• Strong communication skills and team collaboration.
• Passion for delivering high-quality food and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook meals, accommodating dietary requests.
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety policies and regulations.
• Take full shift responsibility for the catering operation when needed.
• Manage stock and place orders; check and reconcile deliveries.
