Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Sheffield is seeking a part-time cook to prepare balanced, appetising meals for patients, staff and visitors. The role involves liaising with nursing colleagues on dietary needs and maintaining high kitchen hygiene across three wards.

Two 7:00–17:30 shifts per week with alternate weekends, you’ll contribute to a safe, friendly kitchen environment and support staff with meal preparation while upholding COSHH and DBS checks.

Qualifications

• Basic food hygiene certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals for patients, staff and visitors.
• Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet dietary needs.
• Ensure kitchen and dining areas are clean and orderly.
• Supervise kitchen staff when deputising for Head Chef.
• Maintain personal and kitchen hygiene in line with regulations.
• Handle, store and maintain kitchen equipment per procedures.
• Use chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.
