Job summary

Priory Hospital Nelson House in Gosport seeks a Part Time Chef to join our hospital kitchen team. Working 15 hours per week on a rota, you will help deliver nutritious meals while meeting food safety and dietary requirements. The role is pro rata with a salary around £11,857 per annum.

You will work closely with the Head Chef, participate in rota shifts including weekends, and support daily kitchen operations in a compassionate care environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds Level 2 in catering or equivalent.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate; Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards.
• Knowledge of food allergens and specialist dietary requirements.
• Experience in a professional kitchen environment.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for delivering high-quality food and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nutritious, high‑quality meals for patients, colleagues and visitors.
• Plan, prepare and cook meals with the Head Chef, ensuring dietary and safety standards.
• Support daily operations and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment.
