Job summary

St Petrock’s in Exeter is seeking a motivated, compassionate Project Worker to join our homelessness team. This part-time role (28 hrs/week, Monday–Thursday, 8am–3:30pm) supports rough sleepers and vulnerably housed clients with essential survival advice and practical help.

The post is 6 months, with DBS clearance and safeguarding being central; male candidate is required due to safeguarding and client needs. The role involves food outreach, mobility, and working within a values-led charity.

Qualifications

• Significant experience of working with disadvantaged people who may exhibit challenging behaviour.
• Respect confidentiality and discretion.
• Able to work independently and as part of a busy team.
• Male candidate is required under the Equality Act 2010 Occupational Requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide survival support and advice to people who are rough sleeping or vulnerably housed.
• Participate in food outreach and on-site engagement at St Petrock’s Centre.
• Work as part of a homelessness team while maintaining safeguarding and DBS standards.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced charity environment.
