Job summary

Practice Plus Group is seeking a part-time General Practitioner to join the primary care team at HMP Eastwood Park in South Gloucestershire. The role covers diagnosis, treatment, prescribing and medical leadership for around 442 patients aged 18 to 76, with a four-hour Friday evening slot.

The GP will focus on long-term conditions, sexual health or substance misuse, and must be eligible to work in the UK with vetting and security checks.

Qualifications

• Experience as a GP in community general practice.
• Ability to work with patients who have a history of substance misuse.
• GMC registration and good standing as a GP.

Responsibilities

• Respond to medical problems through diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referral in line with guidelines and pathways.
• Prescribe for patients, regularly review medications and monitor repeat prescriptions.
• Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis and make timely decisions on future management.
• Provide medical leadership and expert advice to the wider healthcare team.
• Deliver effective patient care, communicating well with patients and using evidence-based practice.
• Undertake clinical audit to improve clinical outcomes.
• Lead multidisciplinary discussions on complex case management and manage results, letters and tasks.
• Undertake clinical risk assessments and implement management strategies.
• Participate in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.
• Share knowledge with team members through development sessions and governance meetings.
• Build collaborative working relationships across the multidisciplinary team.
