Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a part-time General Practitioner to join the Primary Care team at HMP Stocken, a Category C men's prison. You will assess and diagnose patients, manage long-term conditions and substance misuse, and provide medication reviews.

Applicants should have MBChB/MBBS with GMC registration and be eligible for the GP Performers List, with flexibility for two to three days per week and sterling commitment to clinical governance and professional development.

Qualifications

• Qualified GP with MBChB/MBBS and GMC registration.
• RCGP Substance Misuse Cert 1 & 2 or willingness to complete them.
• Experience in community/general practice and managing complex long-term conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage medical problems in line with guidelines.
• Prescribe and review medication; monitor repeat prescriptions.
• Provide medical leadership to the healthcare team and oversee complex cases.
• Lead multidisciplinary discussions and participate in governance activities.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management strategies.
• Deliver patient care using evidence-based practice and clinical audit.
