Job summary

Practice Plus Group seeks a General Practitioner to serve HMP Winchester in the Health in Justice team. This part-time Saturday afternoon post focuses on reception and supporting new arrivals, in a fast-paced setting alongside prescribers and other GPs. Offers are subject to vetting and security checks.

You will diagnose, treat, and regularly review medications, while providing clinical governance and guidance to the wider healthcare team.

Qualifications

• MBChB or MBBS qualification required.
• GMC registration and GP Performers List eligibility.
• Experience in community general practice.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patients' medical problems, diagnose, investigate, treat and refer as per guidelines.
• Prescribe medications and regularly review repeats.
• Provide clinical assessment and timely decisions on management.
• Deliver medical leadership and advice to the healthcare team.
• Maintain high standards of patient communication.
• Undertake clinical audits and apply evidence-based practice.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and governance processes.
• Discuss complex cases and manage results, letters and tasks.
• Carry out risk assessments and implement management strategies.
• Share knowledge through governance meetings and case reviews.
