Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare is hiring for a part-time role (15 hours per week) in Street. The role involves preparing, transporting and caring for the deceased with professionalism and empathy, and includes direct contact with clients and families.

No prior funeral industry experience is required as full training and ongoing support are provided, along with a competitive salary, a generous pension, and staff discounts on Co-op products and services.

Qualifications

• Clear communication with clients and colleagues, both written and verbal.
• Ability to handle numbers, cash handling, discounts, data entry and invoicing.
• Keen eye for detail and accuracy, following regulatory policies.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and by phone, arranging visits and answering questions.
• Keep the funeral home clean, safe and welcoming, reporting maintenance issues.
• Manage client documentation and invoicing using digital systems and devices.
• Refer regulated work (funeral plans) to Funeral Plan Arrangers.
• Assist in the care and preparation of the deceased as trained.
• Update client management apps with timely, accurate data.
