Job summary

Supply Star Recruitment Limited is seeking a motivated Functional Skills Tutor to deliver Maths and English sessions on a part-time basis in Coventry. You will support learners in achieving Functional Skills qualifications and build confidence in numeracy and literacy.

Responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons from Entry Level to Level 2, adapting methods, tracking progress, and preparing for assessments, with a focus on an inclusive, supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, Level 3/4 Award in Education & Training) or willingness to work towards one.
• Functional Skills or GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
• Experience teaching Functional Skills Maths and/or English.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and engage learners with varying abilities.
• DBS certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality Functional Skills Maths and English lessons (Entry Level to Level 2).
• Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learner needs.
• Track learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Prepare learners for assessments and exams.
• Maintain accurate records in line with organisational requirements.
• Provide a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
