Job summary

Novus are a prison education provider delivering Functional Skills Maths at HMP Lancaster Farms. The role is permanent, part-time (18.5 hours/week) for a passionate educator. You’ll inspire learners, adapt lessons, and contribute to rehabilitation in a secure environment.

Applicants should hold a teaching qualification with a subject specialty where applicable and a Level 2 Literacy/Numeracy. DBS checks and safeguarding compliance are required, with pension and employee benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Hold a teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
• Hold a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
• Have experience creating stimulating, vibrant environments conducive to learning
• Demonstrate a track record of achieving quality targets and timely reports

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Functional Skills Maths lessons to learners.
• Create stimulating environments conducive to learning and motivation.
• Work with the Novus team to support rehabilitation and education in a prison setting.
• Meet reporting requirements and maintain quality targets.
