Job summary

Novus is seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Maths Teacher to join our prison education team at HMP Swinfen Hall. You will plan and deliver engaging maths lessons, assess progress, and adapt to learners’ needs in a secured setting.

The role is permanent, full-time, 37 hours per week, serving young adults 18 to 28 years old. We require current teaching qualifications, a Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy, and a passion for making maths accessible.

Qualifications

• Hold a PGCE or Certificate of Education.
• Hold a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Teach Functional Skills Maths to young adults 18–28 within a prison education environment.
• Plan, deliver engaging maths lessons, assess progress, and adapt teaching to meet individual needs.
