Job summary

Novus, the prison education provider, seeks a dedicated Functional Skills Maths Teacher to plan and deliver maths lessons to young adults in a secure setting. You will assess progress and adapt teaching to individual needs.

The role is permanent, full-time, 37 hours per week, with a focus on securing recognised qualifications and supporting learners for future learning and employment.

Qualifications

• Hold a teaching qualification (PGCE or Certificate of Education).
• Hold a relevant subject specialist qualification or commit to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months.
• Hold a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Teach Functional Skills Maths to young adults (18–28) in a prison education setting.
• Plan and deliver engaging maths lessons and assess progress.
