Job summary

Lancashire County Council invites applications for a dependable Domestic Assistant at Grove House, Adlington. You will maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors, and you will follow cleaning schedules with attention to detail.

The role is 17.5 hours per week, 14:00-19:00, at £13.45 per hour. Previous cleaning experience is desirable, and training is provided to support high standards of hygiene and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties across the building, including communal areas, offices, bathrooms, corridors, and resident areas.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and polish surfaces as required.
• Clean bathrooms and toilets to a high standard, ensuring hygiene and safety at all times.
• Replace consumables such as soap, towels, and toilet paper.
• Empty bins and manage waste disposal in line with organisational procedures.
• Follow designated cleaning schedules and maintain appropriate cleaning records.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with training.
• Report maintenance issues or concerns promptly to the management team.
• Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and residents.
