Lancashire County Council is seeking a dependable Domestic Assistant for Thornton House, Thornton, Lancashire. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors, with 17.5 hours per week scheduled 14:00-19:00.

You will perform general cleaning, restock consumables, and follow cleaning schedules while prioritising health and safety. The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, detail‑oriented, and can work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning across building areas including communal spaces, offices, bathrooms and resident areas.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust and polish surfaces as required.
• Maintain high standards in bathrooms and toilets with proper hygiene.
• Replace consumables such as soap, towels and toilet paper.
• Empty bins and manage waste according to procedures.
• Follow cleaning schedules and keep records of tasks.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely per training.
• Report maintenance issues promptly to management.
• Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and residents.
