Job summary

Lancashire County Council is seeking a dependable Domestic Assistant to join the team at Lady Elsie Finney House. You will help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors, taking pride in delivering high standards of cleanliness.

The role is 17.5 hours per week with shifts 09:00-14:00. The hourly rate is £13.45. Training provided and uniform supplied. Local government reorganisation will transfer staff to one of four new unitary councils from April 2028.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning across communal areas, offices, bathrooms, corridors and resident areas.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust and polish surfaces.
• Clean bathrooms and toilets to a high standard with hygiene in mind.
• Replace consumables such as soap, towels and toilet paper.
• Empty bins and manage waste in line with procedures.
• Follow cleaning schedules and maintain cleaning records.
• Report maintenance issues to the management team.
