Job summary

Northumberland County Council is looking for a General Assistant (Cook) to join the catering team at Tynedale House, Blyth on a fixed-term, 17.5 hours per week. The role involves food preparation, cooking and supporting meals for residents with learning disabilities in a residential setting.

You will need a basic food hygiene certificate, knowledge of Health and Safety, and manual handling training. Enhancements apply for weekend/bank holiday shifts, with pro rata annual leave and pension

Qualifications

• Basic food hygiene certificate required.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety.
• Training in Manual Handling is required.
• Experience in a kitchen including food preparation and cooking.
• Willingness to learn to prepare meals for specialised diets.
