Job summary

HC-One is seeking an Assistant Chef in Sunderland for part-time 27 hours per week. You will cook and serve nutritious meals, support the First Chef, manage stock and budget, and supervise kitchen tasks. A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and strong HACCP knowledge are essential, along with a friendly, team-focused approach to resident care.

You will be safeguarding-aware and contribute to a caring environment across HC-One homes, supporting residents with wellbeing and meals every day.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is required.
• Strong understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
• Organised with ability to meet deadlines and follow recipes precisely.

Responsibilities

• Cook and serve nutritious, healthy meals for Residents.
• Provide support to the First Chef and cover in their absence.
• Manage food stock and budget usage; coach colleagues and supervise kitchen clean-up.
