The Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor for Portaferry with 13.5 hours per week, Monday–Thursday 2.45pm–5.30pm and Friday 2.45pm–5.15pm. You will supervise cleaning staff and ensure standards meet EA guidelines at a designated location.

Essential criteria include two years of cleaning experience, strong organisational and communication skills, and knowledge of HSE/ COSHH. Training and safeguarding requirements apply.

Formación

• Two years of cleaning experience outside the home environment.
• Ability to use own initiative and to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate in English.
• Effective organisation and planning skills.
• Ability to work as a member of a team.
• Flexible approach to work and able to give instruction.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety at Work NI Order 1978; COSHH Regulations; cleaning methods/machinery.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, organise and control the work of cleaning staff to ensure EA standards are met, including the supervisor performing cleaning duties.
• Carry out induction and refresher training for staff.
• Liaise with the building manager on day-to-day cleaning issues.
• Investigate complaints and advise the designated line manager.
• Ensure supplies and equipment are maintained within budget and in good condition.
• Monitor materials and equipment suitability; advise if changes are needed.
• Record staff attendance, holidays and absences; maintain inventory and consumables.
• Plan periodic work in consultation with service users and report to Area Co-ordinator.
