Job summary

Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group is seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer in Carpentry & Joinery to deliver outstanding teaching to 16–18 full‑time students and apprentices up to Level 3 at the Newcastle campus, with duties across preparation, marking, and assessment.

This part‑time position (22.2 hours) offers a pro rata salary £32,136‑£42,848 plus benefits such as generous annual leave, pension contributions, and professional development.

Qualifications

• Qualified to NVQ level 3 in a relevant subject and has recent and extensive industrial experience.
• Has a relevant teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) or willingness to train for one.
• Well organised and able to manage the peaks and troughs of a varied workload.
• Able to communicate effectively with students and peers.

Responsibilities

• Teach Carpentry & Joinery up to Level 3 for 16–18 students and apprentices.
• Deliver teaching and learning to students and assess work.
• Prepare and assess examinations and develop learning materials.
• Manage preparation, marking, monitoring, and reporting on progress.
