Job summary

JS Care in Birmingham seeks a Carer/Personal Support Assistant to provide care to a young man with cerebral palsy and complex health needs. Role includes administering medication, moving and handling with hoists, personal care, and accompanying to community activities.

The position is permanent, part-time, 20 hours weekly based in Wythall, with rotating daytime shifts and an overnight sleep-in. Driving licence preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ level two in Health and Social Care or 2+ years working with disabled people with complex needs.
• Good spoken and written communication.
• Team player, flexible, punctual and reliable.
• Patient, compassionate and Sociable; caring about others.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support to a young man with cerebral palsy and complex health needs.
• Administer medication and assist with personal care and hygiene.
• Use slings, hoists and other equipment following risk assessments.
• Drive/accompany to community activities and outings.
