Carer/Personal Support Assistant – Wanted
Providing care and support to a young man who has cerebral palsy and complex health needs. He lives in his own home and needs two carers with him at all times. Duties include administering medication, using slings, hoists and other specialised equipment, personal care, following all risk assessments and protocols, and driving/accompanying him to access opportunities in the community.
NVQ level two or above in Health and Social Care or a minimum of two years’ experience working with people who are disabled and have complex heath needs.
Have good communication skills both spoken and written.
Ability to work as part of a team, be flexible, punctual and reliable.
Have a good sense of humour, be patient, compassionate and understanding with a genuine desire to make a difference and enhance the lives of people who are dependent on others for their care and support.
Driving Licence preferred but not essential.
The role is a permanent – part-time position. 20 hours per week based in Wythall, Birmingham.
Each shift consists of daytime working hours and an overnight sleep-in. The shift pattern varies from 11 daytime hours and one sleep-in to 16.5 daytime hours and one sleep-in. The rotas are flexible.
From £12.71p/h - Overnight sleep-in rate is £40.00 per night increased to £50.00 if required to assist.
