Job summary

UKCIL Ltd in York is seeking a dedicated Personal Assistant to support a young woman in her family home. The role involves 2:1 moving and handling, personal care, medication administration, social activities, and occasional sleepover duties with some weekend shifts.

Applicants must have moving and handling experience, be reliable, punctual, and communicate clearly in writing and speech. A driver with access to a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle is preferred; DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience as Personal Assistant/Support worker.
• Moving and handling experience required; training provided.
• Driver with access to Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle.
• Non-smoker/Non-vaper.
• Excellent communication in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Moving and handling tasks with 2:1 support throughout the day.
• Personal care including stoma care and medication administration.
• Social support and accompanying activities.
• Hydrotherapy pool support (2:1, weekly).
• Assistance with using technology (e.g., iPad/iPhone).
