Job summary

Aberdeen City Council is recruiting care staff to provide high-quality, person-centred care across a range of settings including service users' own homes. You will work as part of a team to support carers and to promote the wellbeing, independence and dignity of those you support.

Part-time, back-shift posts are available at Kingswood Court and other locations in Aberdeen. A PVG membership and SSSC registration are required, with driving licence recommended for some posts.

Qualifications

• Qualification required by SSSC
• PVG scheme membership required or willingness to join
• Registration with the SSSC where applicable
• Full current UK Driving Licence (where applicable)
• Ability to provide personal care to a range of people with support needs
• Promote dignity, respect, choice and independent living
• Effective communication with service users, families and professionals
• Team player able to guide and support colleagues
• Move and handle people and objects safely
• Basic IT skills including smartphones and iPads

Responsibilities

• Provide high standard of person-centred care and support in a range of settings
• Work with carers to enable service users to maintain potential and wellbeing
• Maintain and develop records including risk assessments and care plans
• Communicate effectively with service users, families and professionals to achieve better outcomes
• Work as part of a team and support other staff
• Move and handle people and objects safely
