Job summary

Southwark Council is seeking a Parking Appeals and Representations officer to handle correspondence and representations for PCNs, permits, and suspensions. You will weigh evidence, engage in adjudication hearings, and ensure timely processing in line with statutory procedures.

The role requires at least 6 months of experience with Formal Representations and a solid understanding of TMA 2004 and RTA 1991. You will work within the Parking appeals and representations team to deliver high-quality

Qualifications

Must have 6 months (or more) experience in dealing with Formal Representations and/or informal appeals made against the PCN (issued within London).
Full understanding of TMA 2004 & RTA 1991 is required.

Responsibilities

To investigate and respond to all parking related correspondence and appeals.
To ensure enquiries are dealt with in line with statutory processes and KPIs.
To attend external Adjudication Hearings and prepare proofs of evidence as required.
To process incoming parking permit applications and suspension applications within set time limits.
To answer calls and emails in the parking customer service centre and resolve issues.
To identify themes and trends from representations and report to line manager.
To manage workload in response to changing demands.
To ensure daily quality and quantity performance standards are met.
To ensure enforcement practices comply with procedures and report non-compliance.
To authorise cancellations and refunds for PCNs, permits, or suspensions.
To mentor new staff and provide guidance on parking policies and legislation.
To carry out other duties as required and deputise for the Appeals and Representations Manager.
