Job summary

Roman Catholic Diocese of Westminster invites applications for an administrative role supporting parish communications, office management and liturgical administration. The role covers newsletters, website and database updates, records, and event coordination in a faith-based setting.

Ideal candidates have proven administrative experience, excellent organisation and communication skills, and the ability to work independently with discretion.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an administrative, secretarial or similar role.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional, welcoming manner.
  • High levels of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Experience working with staff, clergy and volunteers.
  • Experience working in a faith-based or charitable setting is welcome but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and distribute weekly newsletters, Mass sheets and parish communications.
  • Manage and update the parish website, social media channels and email databases.
  • Maintain parish records and sacramental registers.
  • Coordinate diaries, appointments and parish bookings.
  • Manage correspondence, records and filing systems.
  • Order church, office and repository supplies.
  • Support meetings through agenda preparation, minute taking and document distribution.
  • Assist with parish financial administration where required.
  • Administer bookings for baptisms, weddings, funerals and Mass intentions.
  • Maintain attendance records for sacramental programmes.
  • Coordinate hall bookings and support parish events and fundraising activities.
  • Liaise with contractors and service providers regarding parish property matters.
  • Coordinate volunteer rotas and schedules.
  • Support GDPR compliance and health and safety requirements.
  • Ensure parish volunteers have completed required training.

Key Responsibilities
Parish Communications

  • £15 per hour| 12-month Fixed Term | Part-time 16HPW Mon, Tue, Thu & Fri | Old Lady of Hal, Camden Town | Closing date 28^th October Midday | Interview date to be confirmed
