Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Parcel Delivery Driver for a 9-month fixed-term contract in Ware. You will work 30 hours weekly across 5 days, with shifts 09:00–15:00 or 14:00–20:00 and weekend rotas including Saturdays and Sundays.

You’ll handle parcels, use route-planning tools, and ensure timely delivery while delivering outstanding customer service. We offer a competitive hourly rate of £13.68, 22.5 days holiday (pro-rata), and a range of benefits.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Ability to work 30 hours per week across Monday–Sunday, with Saturdays and Sundays rota.
• Strong customer service mindset and professional ambassador for Royal Mail.

Responsibilities

• Deliver parcels on your route using route-planning tools.
• Prepping your van and workload for the day to ensure timely deliveries.
• Provide excellent customer service and act as a positive Royal Mail ambassador.

Due to operational demand, you will be required to work Saturday and Sunday, according to a local rota/plan. Sunday hours are 09:00 - 15:00

Please note: For candidate search purposes, roles offering between 35-37 hours per week are listed as full-time. However, any role under 37 hours per week will be classified as part-time in the employment contract.

As a Parcel Delivery Driver, you’re expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.
