Job summary

Practice Plus Group is recruiting a Paramedic to join the Unscheduled care team at HMP Wormwood Scrubs in West London. The site operates 24 hours with shifts of 3/4 days per week, 7:30am–7:45pm, with potential night cover.

The role offers up to £55,086 annual salary and includes bespoke induction, competency framework and career development opportunities. Applicants must have legal right to work in the UK; offers are subject to vetting and security checks.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Paramedic with current HCPC registration.
  • Post-registration ambulance experience preferred.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based care for patients seeking out emergency and unplanned care.
  • Deliver non-judgmental care and build therapeutic relationships.
  • Participate in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care per policies.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Paramedic to join our Unscheduled care team at HMP Wormwood Scrubs, a

Prison located in West London.

Hours

The site currently offers a 24-hour service and shift patterns

3/4 days per week Mon - Sun 7.30am -7.45pm

This role may include night cover

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £55,086

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing
  • Provide outstanding evidence based case to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them - focussing on emergency and unplanned care to patients with both primary care and acute care needs.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
  • Playing an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient’s care following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.
  • Shift coordination - i.e. managing last minute cover.
  • May also include triage.

  • Qualified Paramedic
  • Current professional registration (HCPC)
  • Proven post-registration ambulance experience
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
  • Proven experience in either: Accident & Emergency, Primary Care environments or Minor injuries / illness

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a ambulance, community or prison environment.
