Practice Plus Group is recruiting a Paramedic for the Health in Justice team at HMP Altcourse in Fazakerley, Liverpool. You will manage triage and unplanned care for a diverse patient population in a secure environment, delivering emergency and primary care with professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Paramedic with HCPC registration.

  • Experience in Accident & Emergency, Primary Care or Minor injuries/illness.
  • Hospital, community or prison environment experience is a plus.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Paramedic to join our Primary Care team at HMP Altcourse a category B Prison located in Fazakerley, Liverpool.

HMP Altcourse is the busiest remand prison in the country and you will be at the heart of prison healthcare, managing triage and unplanned care for a diverse and complex patient population. You will assess and treat patients, responding to a wide range of clinical needs, including, Emergency response and acute illness, Chronic disease management, Injuries, trauma, and use of force assessments and Patients under the influence of drugs or alcohol and Mental health crises.

Hours
  • Monday - Sunday service - 37.5 hours per week
  • 7am - 8pm / 9am - 9pm / 8.30am - 9.30am
  • 1 weekend in 3
  • Rota's are done 2 months in advance
  • Occasional nights
Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £43,609 - £49,175 per annum FTE which will be pro rota - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
  • Provide outstanding evidence based case to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them - focussing on emergency and unplanned care to patients with both primary care and acute care needs.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
  • Playing an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient’s care following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.
