Job summary

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Support Worker to be part of the palliative and end of life care phone line. The role supports clinical care under the direction of registered professionals and rotates across a 24/7 telephone response service, helping callers and referrers reach the right service.

The post requires NVQ 3 in Direct Care or working towards it, and recent clinical experience in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Venepuncture, aseptic technique and basic observations are known.
• NVQ 3 in Direct Care or working towards it is required.
• Clinical experience in a healthcare setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering clinical care planned by registered health care professionals.
• Carry out care under indirect supervision of a registered health care professional.
• Support day-to-day care for all patients in the clinical area.
• Contribute to resource management within the clinical area.
• Work rotations on the 24/7 palliative and end of life telephone response service to maintain patient safety.
• Collect referral information and direct callers to the correct service with clinical team support.
