Job summary

Excelcare is seeking a Painter & Decorator to work across our care homes, painting rooms, corridors and communal areas with attention to detail. You will travel between homes across the area, driving your own vehicle with mileage reimbursed; basic computer skills and excellent customer service are essential.

An enhanced DBS is required due to working in vulnerable adults’ homes. We provide a comprehensive induction, funded qualifications where needed, and an annual salary review.

Qualifications

• Own basic tools required, materials provided.
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle for travel between care homes (mileage paid).
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Enhanced DBS check required for working in homes of vulnerable adults.
• Funded qualifications via apprenticeship programme where required.

Responsibilities

• Paint and decorate rooms, paintwork, corridors, lounges in residents' homes.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and finishing in occupied spaces.
• Travel between care homes as required; mileage paid.

Job description

This position requires knowledge and skill as a Painter & Decorator (minimum 2 years). You will need good attention to detail with a positive can do attitude and take pride in your work. This is a customer facing role as such as you will be working within our residents' homes, painting and decorating rooms, paintwork, corridors, lounges, etc.

Excelcare is a family-owned Care Home group established for over 34 years. We provide support to older people with a range of needs including dementia, physical disabilities, and mental health issues. What we are looking for from you:

• Your own basic tools, however, all materials will be provided.
• A full driving licence for use in the UK is essential as well as your own vehicle as you will need to travel between our Care Homes. Mileage will be paid via expenses.
• Basic computer knowledge
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Completion of an enhanced DBS (Criminal Records Check) as you would be working in the home of vulnerable adults.
