Job summary

Resolve Personnel in Manchester is seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator to join the Repairs Team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will deliver high-quality painting, decorating, and refurbishment across occupied and void properties, using a company vehicle to move between sites and prioritising first-time-right outcomes.

The role requires completion of an accredited Painting & Decorating apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2/3, strong health & safety knowledge, and excellent customer-facing

Qualifications

  • Accredited Painting & Decorating apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2/3 in Painting & Decorating.
  • Solid experience in Painting & Decorating.
  • Knowledge of health and safety mandates and regulations.
  • Excellent communication with customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a professional face for the client and uphold company values.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve repair issues quickly, aiming for a single-visit completion.
  • Perform painting, decorating and refurbishment tasks across properties (occupied and void).
  • Adhere to health and safety laws, risk assessments, and safe methods of work.
  • Maximise daily productivity, manage van inventory, and reduce waste.
  • Work a 40-hour weekly rota and be punctual for resident appointments.
  • Coordinate with management to elevate service and tenant satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate work records using mobile apps and internal systems.
  • Identify safeguarding issues and suggest process improvements.

  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Shift Pattern: Four weekdays (11:30 - 20:00) and every Saturday (08:00 - 16:30)

The Role

In this position, you will collaborate with the Repairs Team to provide top-tier Painting & Decorating solutions across our client's housing portfolio. The focus is on exceptional customer care and achieving a "Right First Time" result. You will handle a diverse range of refurbishment, upkeep, and renewal Painting & Decorating tasks in both occupied and empty (void) properties, utilising a provided company vehicle to commute between sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a professional face for our client, upholding company values and providing stellar service.

  • Execute various painting, decorating and property refurbishment duties.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety laws, risk assessments, and secure operational methods.
  • Maximise daily productivity, reduce material waste, and oversee van inventory effectively.
  • Work reliably across the required 40-hour weekly rota, ensuring absolute punctuality for resident appointments.
  • Coordinate with management and colleagues to elevate service standards and tenant satisfaction.
  • Keep precise, up-to-date work records using mobile applications and internal company platforms.
  • Spot and escape potential safeguarding matters while looking for ways to improve internal processes.
Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • A completed, accredited Painting & Decorating apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Painting & Decorating.
  • Exceptional skills and work experience within Painting and Decorating
  • Solid understanding of health and safety mandates and regulations.
  • Top-tier communication capabilities with a background in customer-facing environments.
  • A valid, full UK driving licence.
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills, with a commitment to high-calibre craftsmanship.
  • Due to the nature of the role, the post holder will be subject to an enhanced DBS check (criminal record check) if you are to be successful.
