MTL Advanced in Rotherham is seeking an Industrial Paint Shop Manager to oversee daily painting operations, coordinate surface preparation and coating application, and ensure products meet quality standards.

You will lead and develop the painting team, manage schedules, monitor safety compliance, and drive productivity while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient shop floor. The role offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, trains and mentors staff, conducting performance reviews and managing schedules.
• Coordinates daily painting activities, including surface preparation and coating application.
• Inspects work for defects, ensuring finished products meet quality standards and specifications.
• Ensures compliance with safety protocols (H&S) and environmental regulations, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Sets daily, weekly, or project-based targets, coordinating with other departments to meet deadlines.
• Oversees maintenance of spray booths and tools, while managing inventory levels of paint, chemicals, and supplies.
• Identifies opportunities to increase productivity, improve quality, and reduce waste.

VACANCY: Industrial Paint Shop Manager.

SHIFT: Monday – Friday 7am – 4pm.

PAY: £40,000 – £42,000 depending on experience.

LOCATION: Rotherham, S60 5AE ( 5 minutes from Meadowhall )

Our inhouse capabilities include, large format Laser Cutting and Press Braking, CNC Precision Machining, Fabrication & Welding, Shot Blasting, Painting and final Assembly

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Supervises, trains and mentors staff, conducting performance reviews and managing schedules.
• Coordinates daily painting activities, including surface preparation (sandblasting, cleaning) and coating application (painting, spraying).
• Inspects work for defects, ensuring finished products meet quality standards and specifications.
• Ensures compliance with safety protocols (H&S) and environmental regulations, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Sets daily, weekly, or project-based targets, coordinating with other departments to meet deadlines.
• Oversees maintenance of spray booths and tools, while managing inventory levels of paint, chemicals, and supplies.
• Identifies opportunities to increase productivity, improve quality, and reduce waste.

ABOUT YOU:

• Proficiency with various painting techniques, coating types, and equipment.
• Ability to lead a team, provide feedback, and report to management.
• Capability to troubleshoot equipment failures or paint defects.
• Strong scheduling and resource management skills.
• Previous supervisor/management expereience.
• Strong IT Skills
• Paint Inspection Level one desirable.
