Job summary

MTL Advanced in Rotherham is seeking a Level 2 Weld Inspector to monitor QA/QC on fabrications and review WPS, PQR, and WPQ. You will provide independent welding and fabrication support, endorse NDT reports, and ensure conformance to fabrication plans on a high‑growth site near Meadowhall.

Ideal candidates will have PCN Level 2 Welding Inspector certification and experience with vendor inspection and quality plans.

Qualifications

• PCN Welding Inspector Level 2 or equivalent is essential.
• PCN Level 2 MPI/DPI is preferred.
• Experience with Welding Inspection Site/Field and Vendor Inspection Fabrication Quality Plans is essential.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal.
• Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office are essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitor fabricators QA and QC activities.
• Review Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Review Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
• Review Welders Performance Qualifications (WPQ).
• Provide independent welding and fabrication support and advice.
• Review Fabrication Inspection and Test Plans and final fabrication pack.
• Perform visual inspections of weld setup and quality; conduct dimensional inspections as needed.
• Review and endorse NDT reports promptly.
• Prescribe and monitor weld repairs to code.
• Verify application of NDT methods for inspection activities.
• Maintain a contemporaneous record of daily activities.

VACANCY: Level 2 Weld Inspector

SHIFT : Monday – Thursday, Rotating Days 6am – 4pm and Nights 8pm – 6am.

PAY: £19.13 per hour.

LOCATION: Rotherham, S60 (Close to Meadowhall, Sheffield)

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Monitor fabricators Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities

ABOUT YOU:

• PCN Welding Inspector Level 2 or equivalent is essential.
• PCN Level 2 MPI/DPI is preferred
• Previous experience of Welding Inspection Site/Field and Vendor Inspection Fabrication Quality Plans is essential
• Ability to generate a team approach to problem solving and a good communicator, both written and verbal is essential
• Computer literate is essential
• Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office is essential
