Job summary

MTL Advanced in Rotherham is seeking a Level 2 Weld Inspector to monitor fabrication quality on site. Tasks include reviewing WPS, PQR, WPQ, endorsing NDT reports and ensuring welds conform to code, with daily record keeping.

Qualifications

• PCN Welding Inspector Level 2 or equivalent required.
• Experience inspecting welds on fabrication projects and vendor welds.

ACANCY: Level 2 Weld Inspector

SHIFT : Monday – Thursday, Rotating Days 6am – 4pm and Nights 8pm – 6am.

PAY: £17.00 per hour.

LOCATION: Rotherham, S60 (Close to Meadowhall, Sheffield)

Our inhouse capabilities include, large format Laser Cutting and Press Braking, CNC Precision Machining, Fabrication & Welding, Shot Blasting, Painting and final Assembly.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Monitor fabricators Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities
• Review approved Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS
• Review Procedure Qualification Records (PQR)
• Review Welders Performance Qualifications records (WPQ)
• Provide Independent Welding and Fabrication support and advice
• Review of Fabrication Inspection and Test Plans and final fabrication pack
• Visual inspections of weld set up/weld quality, completion of dimensional inspections as required
• Review and endorse NDT reports in a timely manner
• Prescribe and monitor weld repairs to code
• Verify the application of NDT methods for inspection activities
• Maintain a contemporaneous record of daily activities

ABOUT YOU:

• PCN Welding Inspector Level 2 or equivalent is essential.
• PCN Level 2 MPI/DPI is preferred
• Previous experience of Welding Inspection Site/Field and Vendor Inspection Fabrication Quality Plans is essential
• Ability to generate a team approach to problem solving and a good communicator, both written and verbal is essential
• Computer literate is essential
• Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office is essential
