Leonardo in Edinburgh or Newcastle is offering a 6-month paid MEng placement for final- or penultimate-year Electronic Engineering students.

You will work on real-world avionics projects, gain hands-on hardware experience, undertake an individual project, use ECAD tools and test equipment, and report to an experienced engineer.

The placement runs 1 June to 3 December 2027, with on-site days three to four days per week to maximise learning and integrate with your team.

Formación

• You should be matriculated in an MEng course, typically Electronics Engineering, Engineering Science, Physics or another relevant discipline.
• We normally only consider candidates who require a 6-month industrial placement to meet the academic requirement of their course. A full statement of courses and projects studied at university and corresponding grades/marks/percentage should be included in your CV.
• You should demonstrate an interest in one or more of the disciplines within Electronic Engineering (e.g. RF, Microwave, Power Supply, FPGAs or High-Speed Digital Circuitry). If you have a preference, please indicate this on your CV or screening questions.

Responsabilidades

• Contribute to solving real life engineering problems on state-of-the-art avionics sensor systems.
• Apply your academic knowledge to real projects, including design, testing, qualification and/or technology support
• To learn the skills required for hardware development, you will develop practical skills in design techniques for aerospace applications, understand key technologies, and develop your experience using ECAD tools and test equipment
• Develop your skills with the guidance of an experienced supervisor and the wider engineering community
• Deliver technical reports and presentations on your work assignments to your supervisor and fellow MEng students.
• Deliver plans and reports to the required academic standard of your university.
