Job summary

Leonardo UK is offering a 6‑month paid MEng placement for Electronics Engineering students at either the Edinburgh or Newcastle sites. You will work on real projects alongside engineers, applying your studies to radar or electro‑optic product electronics design.

You will gain hands‑on experience, learn state‑of‑the‑art development methods, and report to an experienced engineer who guides your day‑to‑day learning. The programme runs June–December 2027 with on-site time several days a week.

Qualifications

• Must be an MEng student in the final or penultimate year.
• A full statement of courses and projects studied at university and grades should be included in your CV.
• Interest in RF, Microwave, Power Supply, FPGAs or High‑Speed Digital Circuitry.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to solving real life engineering problems on state‑of‑the‑art avionics sensor systems.
• Apply academic knowledge to design, testing, qualification and/or technology support.
• Develop hardware design skills using ECAD tools and test equipment.
• Develop skills with guidance from an experienced supervisor and the wider engineering community.
• Deliver technical reports and presentations to your supervisor and fellow students.
