Job summary

RSM UK is offering a 12-month paid placement in External Audit. You will work within our audit team, gaining practical experience on live client engagements and on-the-job training. The role provides exposure to a range of clients, from owner-managed businesses to large listed groups and charities.

We seek candidates on a placement degree with UCAS expectations and a genuine interest in business. Start date is 14 September 2027, and there is potential for progression into graduate programmes

Qualifications

• A minimum of 112 UCAS points across three A levels (or equivalent level 3 qualification), 104 UCAS points across four Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers or an Irish Leaving Certificate (higher level).
• Be enrolled on a placement degree.
• An existing, permanent, right to live and work in the UK for this role.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information clearly and concisely with team members and clients.
• The ability to analyse and interpret data to solve problems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, which enable you to build relationships and stay calm under pressure.
• A genuine interest in business and commerce together with strong organisational and time management skills.
• A willingness to travel to client sites and other offices as required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough, risk-focused reviews of clients’ financial records, processes and controls.
• Join our audit team and work with a variety of clients from owner-managed businesses to large listed groups and not-for-profit organisations.
