Job summary

RSM UK is offering a 12-month paid placement in External Audit as part of a sandwich degree. You will gain practical experience by working alongside current trainees and audit professionals, handling real client work with on-the-job training and access to internal courses.

There could be a place on graduate training programmes after you finish your degree. You’ll work with a diverse client base from owner-managed businesses to large listed groups and not-for-profits, with travel to client sites

Qualifications

• Minimum of 112 UCAS points across three A levels (or equivalent level 3 qualification) or 104 UCAS points across four Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers or an Irish Leaving Certificate (higher level).
• Be enrolled on a placement degree.
• An existing, permanent, right to live and work in the UK for this role.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information clearly and concisely with team members and clients.
• The ability to analyse and interpret data to solve problems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, which enable you to build relationships and stay calm under pressure.
• A genuine interest in business and commerce with strong organisational and time management skills.
• A willingness to travel to client sites and other offices as required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough, risk-focused reviews of clients’ financial records, processes, and controls.
• Join our audit team from day one, getting involved in client work quickly, initially as part of a larger team before taking on individual responsibility for projects.
• Work with a wide variety of clients, ranging from owner managed businesses through to large listed groups and not-for-profit organisations.
