Job summary

Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust is advertising a Highly Specialist Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6 or Band 7) to join our community team on a 12-month secondment to cover maternity leave. The role focuses on stammering and selective mutism, and development of pathways within our paediatric SLT service.

The post involves highly specialist triage, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge planning for children and young people with speech, language and communication needs,

Qualifications

• Provide highly specialist triage, assessment and discharge recommendations for children with speech and language needs.
• Lead on service development with managers and team.
• Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and second opinions.
• Deliver training to the wider children’s workforce on communication difficulties.
• Develop policies and pathways to improve patient care.

Responsibilities

• Triage, assess, diagnose, treat and discharge young patients with speech and language needs.
• Support service development and innovation with the team.
• Provide training and supervision to staff.
