Job summary

Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust's paediatric Speech and Language Therapy service is seeking a highly specialist clinician to support children and young people with speech, language and communication needs. You will contribute to triage, assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment and discharge planning within a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Provide highly specialist triage, assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment and discharge recommendations for children and young people with speech, language and communication needs.
• Assist in service development and innovation in consultation with managers and other team members.
• Provide clinical supervision, shadowing, mentoring and second opinions for team members.
• Liaise with the Team Lead about service delivery issues and develop plans to manage them.
• Communicate effectively with children, families, colleagues and education staff.
• Lead on service development, creating policies, processes and pathways to improve patient care.
• Demonstrate excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
• Implement, monitor and evaluate new ways of working including audits/outcome reporting on new workstreams.
• Deliver training to the wider children’s workforce on communication difficulties, developing and adapting training packages.
