Job summary

The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Band 7 Paediatric Practice Development Nurse to lead education, practice development and quality improvement across paediatric services.

You will design and deliver training, develop competencies and support the learning needs of nurses, healthcare support workers, students and newly qualified staff, while promoting evidence-based, family-centred care.

Qualifications

• Registered Children's Nurse with NMC registration.
• Degree or evidence of study at degree level.
• Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to paediatric practice and clinical education.
• Practice Assessor qualification or equivalent per NMC Standards.
• Master's degree in nursing, Education or related subject, or working towards.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership and expert advice in paediatric nursing practice development.
• Identify learning needs and develop, deliver and evaluate education programmes, training sessions and competency frameworks.
• Support the induction, development and ongoing education of registered nurses, healthcare support workers, students and newly qualified staff.
• Promote evidence-based practice, clinical excellence and continuous improvement across paediatric services.
• Act as a clinical role model, supporting teams to enhance confidence, skills and quality of care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clinical leaders and education partners to implement practice changes.
• Lead and support quality improvement initiatives, audits and service developments to improve patient outcomes.
• Develop learning resources and support a positive learning culture within the paediatric workforce.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of education and practice development activities.
• Provide flexible support to meet service priorities and workforce development needs.
